WASHINGTON, DC --- United States Representative Candice Miller
today announced the acquisition of a key military contract for
the community of Port Huron. The United States Army has
announced that it's authorized a nearly $200,000 payment to GMA
Cover Corporation, to purchase the company's top-of-the-line
military vehicle parts. This is the just the first piece of a
projected $7,000,000 deal between the Army and GMA, which is a
major Port Huron area employer. GMA specializes in the
production of camouflage covers for wheeled and tracked
vehicles.
"Our primary goal in government is to provide for
the common defense. Our military men and women must always be
equipped with the highest-quality equipment to insure the
protection of our families and the safety of our forces," Miller
said. "I'm pleased the United States Army has entrusted GMA to
provide this equipment. I've fought hard to support GMA, which
has become an increasingly important supplier of our men and
women in uniform."
GMA recently dedicated a new 63,000 square foot manufacturing
facility. "The new facility and the new major military contract
are proof that Michigan can once again become the `Arsenal of
Democracy' --- the builders of the tools that protect our great
nation," Miller said.
