PORT HURON, MI ---
Today, GMA Cover Corporation announced the introduction
of the new
soft top for Oshkosh Truck Corporation’s up-armored troop
carrier variant of the Medium Tactical Vehicle Replacement (MTVR).
The solution provides a light weight, flexible cover and
concealment function for the passenger compartment of the U.S.
Marine Corps vehicle.
“This solution is
another example of our practical approach to designing cover and
camouflage solutions for our soldiers,” said GMA President Brian
Keller. “In this instance, our fitted soft top complements the
up-armored vehicle configuration. The GMA solution provides
additional cover and concealment, offers better air circulation
for the Marines inside and allows for improved line-of-sight
through its retractable, roll-up capability.”
GMA will be
delivering over 400 fitted soft top covers for all up-armored
MTVR troop carriers. Future designs for the GMA soft top
solution may also incorporate a one way, see-through camouflage
cover, allowing vehicle occupants to maintain their situational
awareness while concealing the troop compartments from outside
observation. GMA is also working on applying this design
concept to other Department of Defense vehicle platforms.
