GMA COVER CORPORATION RECOGNIZED FOR QUALITY PERFORMANCE
7 September, 2004
PORT HURON, Michigan --- GMA Cover Corporation was honored by the
Defense Supply Center Columbus (DSCC) as one of the government’s
best suppliers at an Automated Best Value System (ABVS) award
ceremony held during the center’s Supplier Conference August 31,
2004.
Brian Keller, President of GMA, Mary Depner,
Contracts Manager, and Leigh Merritt, Sales Manager, accepted the
Silver Award from DSCC Commander, Navy Rear Admiral Linda J. Bird.
GMA is a leading manufacturer of fitted
camouflage systems for tactical vehicles. Products include fitted
cargo covers and cab tops for tactical vehicles as well as
integrated camouflage systems tailored to the respective vehicle.
Keller stated that “GMA is proud to receive
this award recognizing the quality of our products, the timeliness
of our deliveries and our overall value to the Department of
Defense. Only 2% of the 7,000 government contractors conducting
business with DSCC earn this award annually. Our employees are
justifiably proud to be in this select group.”
Firms that qualify as ABVS Award winners have
met stringent quality and delivery requirements established by the
Defense Logistics Agency. The ABVS, a computerized system, collects
a vendor’s past performance data and translates it into a numeric
score ranging from zero to 100. GMA, as a Silver Award winner had
an ABVS score of 99.7.
